Poem
Honouring Our Communities
We honour hands that built a home
where none had thought to leave us room;
the voices raised in prayer and song
that kept our weary hope in bloom.
We honour those whose names are known,
and those whose service has no plaque;
who shared their bread, who taught the young,
who would not turn a neighbour back.
Our many stories, woven close,
make room for every gift to shine;
one body, joined in Christ our Lord,
each life beloved, each voice a sign.
So let our thanks be more than words:
let justice grow where people stand.
We honour those who went before
by building hope with heart and hand.
