A Prayer of Hope in Testing Times

Faithful and unchanging God, we come to you in these testing times, when familiar things are passing away and the future feels uncertain. We know that life may never be quite the same again. Changes and upheavals leave their marks upon us, and sometimes we struggle to recognise the road ahead. Yet amid all that shifts and unsettles us, you remain constant, the same yesterday, today and for ever.

When we are anxious, steady our hearts. When we are weary, renew our strength. When hope grows faint, remind us that no darkness can extinguish your light and no change can separate us from your love.

Help us not merely to long for what has been, but to trust you in what is becoming. Lead us courageously into the future, assured that wherever the journey takes us, you have already gone before us and we ask through Jesus Mighty name who is our sure and living hope. Amen.
